about

The original text of "Lied" was taken from Tenor part of Glogauer Liederbuch ( 1480s). It was taken form a Quodlibet, a humorous motet-like composition that combines several popular melodies. In that particular Quodlibet the upper voice performs the popular melody "O rosa bella", while tenor performs the initial fragments of other 22 songs.
